Iranian-made missile fired at Israel for first time: report PDF Print E-mail

Fri Jul 28, 11:12 AM ET Hezbollah has fired Iranian-made missiles into Israel for the first time during the 17-day-old Lebanon crisis, with five rockets landing in the north of the country without causing casualties.

Five Zelzal-1 missiles, which have a range of around 100 kilometers (60 miles) landed in the town of Afula, just under 50 kilometers south of Israel's border with Lebanon, Channel 10 reported Friday.

The army said it was checking the type of rockets that had landed in Afula Friday.

Up to now Hezbollah had been using shorter-range Katyusha rockets.
