A SUICIDE blast that rocked the UN building in the Nigerian capital
Abuja today has killed at least 18 people and wounded eight others, a
police commissioner said as rescue operations continued.

Earthquake Damage to US National Cathedral Will Cost Millions PDF Print E-mail

The iconic Washington National Cathedral in Washington D.C. was heavily
damaged during Tuesday afternoon's 5.8 magnitude earthquake. Cathedral
officials are now saying that repairs could cost millions of dollars,
and none of the damages are expected to be covered by the church's
insurance.

widespread power outages, flooding, and damage Saturday morning as
Hurricane Irene continued its northward trek along the East Coast, with
Norfolk, Virginia, and the Hampton Roads area next in its sights.
