At least five people were killed when militants fired at Israeli
vehicles near the Egyptian frontier today, sparking a heavy gun battle
in a three-pronged attack, Israeli TV said.

that an anti-tank missile was fired across the border from Egypt. A
military spokesman said civilians and soldiers are among the casualties.

JERUSALEM -- An al-Qaida front group headquartered in the Gaza Strip was
behind a series of coordinated attacks today targeting Israelis near the
southern border resort town of Eilat, according to Egyptian security
officials.
